This is a notebook, not a publication. Things get written down here because
working them out a second time would cost more than writing them down once.

What goes here

Two kinds of thing, kept apart on purpose:

Docs are reference. They stay true, get looked up again, and only
appear once a setup has been run end to end.

Posts are time-bound. Something broke, something got decided, something
took an afternoon that should have taken ten minutes.

The split matters because the two age differently. A doc that drifts out of date
is a bug; a post that is two years old is just a post from two years ago.

What does not go here

Anything written to look authoritative rather than to be useful. No tutorials
reassembled from other people’s tutorials, and no commands that have not been
run on a real machine.

Note

Pages say so when they have not been re-tested against a current release.
Confidence is cheap; a date and a version are not.

Next

More notes as they accumulate. The docs section is the place to start.
